-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Deadline to submit application materials for review: December 18, 2022
Applications will be ranked by the Review Committee. Selected award winners will be notified by January 5, 2023
Award monies for weekend trainings will be transmitted directly from the Indiana Cave Rescue Scholarship Committee to the NCRC registrar for each recipient and for weeklong trainings will be transmitted directly to the NCRC.
If you receive a scholarship, you will be responsible for paying the remainder of your discounted registration fees before per NCRC guidelines. In the event the scholarship winner does not attend, funding will be returned to the Review Committee so that the next ranked applicant may receive funding for the training. In the event the course is cancelled after you are awarded the scholarship the funds will be returned and the process starts anew with a new course.
The number of awards provided will depend on the scholarship denominations chosen by applicants, as well as the number applying. It is our mission to fund as many applicants as possible for these trainings.
Must be 18 or older to apply. Priority for selecting scholarship recipients will be based on several criteria, including:
- Proximity to Indiana’s highest density cave regions (i.e South-Central)
- Involvement in local cave-related organizations and initiatives (grotto membership, conservation efforts, other related activities)
- Likelihood of long-term commitment to the Indiana cave community
- Financial need
- Level 1 training applicants if applying for NCRC Weeklong
