The Indiana Cave Rescue Scholarship was founded in 2018 and made possible through generous donations from local businesses, cavers, and individuals who support the need for better cave rescue infrastructure in this region. We appreciate all of our donors who have made this scholarship opportunity possible for the local caving community! If you are selected for an award, it will be used to fund a portion of the registration cost for rescue courses in which we open up to scholarship applications.
It is our mission to fund as many applicants as possible for caving related rescue trainings.
If you would like to nominate a local caver for any posted scholarships, feel free to email: firstname.lastname@example.org before the noted deadline. Nominees will be contacted by the Review Committee and encouraged to apply.
Must be 18 or older to apply. Priority for selecting scholarship recipients will be based on several criteria, including:
- Proximity to Indiana’s highest density cave regions (i.e South-Central)
- Involvement in local cave-related organizations and initiatives (grotto membership, conservation efforts, other related activities)
- Likelihood of long-term commitment to the Indiana cave community
- Financial need
- Level 1 training applicants if applying for NCRC Week Long course.
